How the simulator works
Each remaining fixture gets expected goals from our per-team attack and defence ratings, the same model behind every match prediction on this site, learned from each club's whole history with opponent strength priced in. The simulator draws goals for both sides, adds the points to the current table, ranks by points, goal difference and goals scored, and repeats 10,000 times. A club the ratings have not seen enough of yet is priced at the league's own average, and each league page says how many fixtures that was.
